Our Services

Welcome to the Information Commons, the center for academic support at USF Sarasota-Manatee. We are located on the second floor of the main rotunda and are here to help you make the most of your academic experience, and ensure that you have all the resources you need to be successful. To that end, we offer a variety of services to both students and faculty, organized into the following departments:

The Academic Resource Desk

The Information Commons Academic Resource desk, attended by student workers and staff specialists, answers any questions you might have about the services offered through the Information Commons. The Academic Resource desk staff also helps troubleshoot technical issues and signs out rental equipment at your request.

E-Learning Services

The E-Learning Services department provides technical support to students and faculty using Learning Management System (LMS) software, such Canvas and Blackboard Collaborate. They are instructional design experts who can help you make the most of education in the digital age.

Learning Support Services

Learning Support Services (LSS) provides academic support to students through subject tutoring, writing consultations, interactive workshops and resource materials.  Initiated and funded by the USFSM Student Government Association, LSS fosters student success through collaborative learning and practice.

Library Services

Library Services offers reference and research assistance to all students and faculty to navigate the robust but occasionally-confusing network of research tools made available through USFSM. Whether you are on the hunt for hard-to-find information, or just need help putting together a research plan, our librarians will help you find the materials you need.

Technology Services

Technology Services offers technical assistance in computing, telecom, and instructional technology to enable faculty, students, and staff meet their technology needs. The Technology Services team offers support for your campus technology needs, including: hardware/software support, password assistance, wireless access, and remote connectivity.
