Applying the Quality Matters Rubric
An online Applying the Quality Matters Rubric (APPQMR) workshop was held May 3 – 17. Participants in the APPQMR workshop gained information and practical skills in using the QM Rubric to review online courses. Congratulations to the following individuals for successful completion of this workshop!

Destination: Quality Matters Review
During the Spring 2019 term, a session of the Destination: Quality Matters Review (DQMR) workshop was offered. Participants in the DQMR workshop had the opportunity to:
- Develop a Course Alignment Plan for one of their online or hybrid courses
- Discuss ways of displaying course alignment within the Canvas course shell
- Identify various ways of meeting QM alignment standards
- Identify elements of their course that meet QM standards
- Develop a plan for continued improvement in their course
- Participate in the course peer review process

Quality Matters (QM) is a faculty-centered, peer review process that is designed to certify the quality of online and blended courses. QM is a leader in quality assurance for online education and has received national recognition for its peer-based approach and continuous improvement in online education and student learning. The QM process reviews course design using the following eight standards: Course Overview and Introduction, Learning Objectives, Assessment and Measurement, Instructional materials, Learner Interaction and Engagement, Course Technology, Learner Support, and Accessibility.
USF is a system-wide QM subscriber. We encourage faculty instructing online or blended courses to participate in this prestigious peer review process. Certified courses receive national recognition in an online database for distance education.
